Transformer Service Maintenance

The main objective of any maintenance is to preserve the original specification of you transformer in good conditions.
Your transformers need to serve you long with trouble-free and uninterrupted service, therefore they should receive a reasonable preventive maintenance, which consists of regular inspection, testing and reconditioning when necessary.
Records should be kept giving details of any abnormalities during service and also of any periodic test results taken. These demonstrate compliance with the general requirements of International standard.

An average scope of works for the installation / testing / commissioning of a power transformer would include the following key activities:

Planning Activities,
Risk Assessment, Method Statements, installation plan/schedule, etc,
Preliminary inspection prior starting erection work and kick of meeting held,
Erection of the auxiliaries’ equipment,
Vacuum, Oil filling and final oil circulation,
Final testing, commissioning and energization of the transformer.
